The Cryosphere features equipment saving for 'cloned' objects. If you buy an item from a shop, it will be preserved for you when you quit. (This goes for communicator badges from machines, as well as certain other items.

This is rent-free. You are limited to save what you can carry at present. Anything else can be left in your quarters.
